In the Products business unit at TÜV Rheinland, we are looking for talents who want to stand with us at the forefront of safety, quality, and innovation. Our Core Areas:

  • Softlines: Testing, inspection, and certification services for textiles, clothing, footwear, leather goods, and other consumer products.
  • Hardlines: Safety and quality testing for household goods, toys, furniture, sports equipment, tools, and DIY products.
  • Electrical: Testing and certification of electrical and electronic products, from household appliances to industrial control systems.
  • Solar & Commercial: Quality assurance and certification of photovoltaic modules, inverters, and commercial technical installations.
  • Medical: Comprehensive testing and certification for medical devices, from diagnostic equipment to implants.

Job Summary: The primary responsibility of this role is to support TÜV Rheinland’s Business Stream “Products” Global Sustainability Team, with a focus on activities undertaken or initiated within Western, Central and Eastern Europe and aiming at materials, products and packaging. She/he will support the team by addressing market requests and participating in the entire process, from the pre-engagement stage to contributing to the growth of product sustainability and circular economy services in both national and international contexts. As part of TÜV Rheinland’s UK team within the Business Stream “Products”, the candidate will be involved in projects across diverse product categories, such as textiles, hardgoods, electrical products, solar equipment, commercial goods, and medical devices, to meet the needs of TÜV Rheinland customers.

Job Description: Project management support of various workstreams based on assignment and within provided guidance. Project management support of in-person events (internal and external engagement). Research and diverse presentation preparations/trainings, both based within secondary data and internally provided data. Excellent ability to compile engaging documents in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Candidate Qualification:

Education: Studying environmental sciences, material sciences, surface design, chemistry, apparel or textiles sustainability, product sustainability or other relevant subjects. Products of focus can be one or more of the following: textiles, packaging, hardgoods, electrical products, solar equipment, commercial goods, and medical devices. The candidate can be in course of completion of their degree and looking for an industry placement.

Experience and skills: Passionate about making an impact in sustainability with broad knowledge of ESG and product sustainability trends. Essential: research and analysis skills, attention to detail. Preferred but not essential: an understanding of product certification, or desire to develop such understanding. Preferred but not essential: an understanding of one or more of the below: product design and development, product sustainability, product circularity principles. Ability to manage 2–4 concurrent projects under tight deadlines with high quality output. Excellent English communication skills in all forms, including written, presentation for potential engagement with customers and internal teams. Customer-focused mindset and ability to quickly assess and understand customers’ challenges and provide applicable supports accordingly. Strong team player with problem-solving skills. Willingness to travel within the UK and potentially Europe.
