Job Description
Technical contribution Performs basic mechanical engineering and technical safety tasks to generate initial project deliverables cost‑effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements. All deliverables will be reviewed and approved by senior engineers and consultants. Exercises judgement on limited details of work and on application of standard methods. Prepares project documentation within one’s scope of deliverables.
Contract management Identifies variation requests to support contract claims issuing.
Planning and control Follows work plans and cost estimates in one’s area of responsibility. Ensures quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost.
Risk and opportunity management Supports risk assessments and implementation of resulting actions in one’s area of responsibility. Documents and handles technical risks according to mitigation guidelines.
Customer Clarifies technical queries for customers. Interacts with other staff and contractors within one’s scope of deliverables.
Processes and tools Uses standard processes, software and tools applicable to one’s area of responsibility. Reports process and tool inefficiencies, along with suggesting ideas for improvement.
Essential Requirements - Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2:1 Masters degree level qualified in Mechanical Engineering.
- Clean UK Driving License.
- Energetic, enthusiastic and self‑motivated candidate.
- Clear communication skills with ability to deliver bad news.
- Willingness to Travel and able to travel out of area on occasions.
- Applicants must have the legal right to live and work in the UK at the time of application and for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
Desirable
- Engineering experience working in High Hazard Oil, Gas & Chemicals Industry.
- Associate member of relevant institution e.g. Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
