As part of the TUV family, Risktec Resourcing have been tasked to assist our sister company TUV Rheinland Industrial Services (TRIS) in recruiting for a Process Safety Engineer based in our Warrington office (we will consider candidates from the Teesside area).

Job Summary: The Process Safety Consultant will propose engineering solutions tailored to meet customer needs, while identifying improvement opportunities through client feedback. Reporting to the Process Safety Team Leader, this role will lead technical assignments with support from senior colleagues to develop solutions and resolve client issues, using industry-standard and innovative approaches while ensuring compliance with regulations. The consultant will play a pivotal role in defining the vision for the Process Safety Team, supporting the development and growth of the service in existing and emerging markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with clients to deliver customer satisfaction.
  • Understand client needs and assist in the delivery of tailored, pragmatic solutions.
  • Maintain and enhance customer relationships, securing new opportunities for repeat and new consulting business.
  • Support the financial performance of consulting assignments through the timely and high-quality delivery of services.
  • Work under the supervision of senior team members on assignment tasks providing regular updates on project progress and any challenges faced.
  • Seek feedback and guidance from senior team members to improve performance.
  • Swiftly adapt to changing project requirements and market trends.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, customer contracts, and industry regulations.
  • Maintain transparency in communication with clients, team members, and management.

Experience: 5+ years of experience in process industries, preferably across different high-hazard industries.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of process safety techniques and risk management tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Apply process safety techniques and tools across technical assignments, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Experience and a willingness to develop further expertise in three or more of the following:
    • Hazard study leadership
    • Human factors analysis
    • Process safety management with auditing experience
    • Safety reports for COMAH or offshore regulations

Qualifications: Master’s degree in chemical engineering or a related scientific discipline. A preference for Chartered membership in an appropriate institution, or actively working towards Chartership.

Proactively seek learning opportunities and develop own strengths. Ensure compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations.
  • Communication and Transparency: Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent technical report writing and reviewing capabilities. Provide timely, transparent, and reliable information, and actively seek and accept personal feedback.

NB – (please note that UK security clearance is very difficult to achieve within the timescales for non UK nationals, and you will be subject to a screening process prior to interview to ensure that you meet the security clearance criteria)
