Make a Real Impact as an SEN Tutor. Are you a passionate educator, making a difference in the lives of students with SEN or SEHM needs? We are looking for experienced and dedicated tutors. You'll provide personalised 1:1 support in English and Maths for students with English as an additional language. These in-person sessions in Clapton offer the chance to work closely with students, helping them build skills and confidence in a supportive and tailored learning environment.
Job Details
- Location: In-person in the Clapton area
- Schedule: Weekday afternoons, Monday – Friday
- Hours: 2 hours per day, building up to 3 hours per day
- Subject and Level: KS1 Maths and English and Communication Activities
- Pay: £35 p/h
- Start date: As soon as possible
What You’ll Do
- Develop and deliver tuition programmes in small groups or 1:1
- Provide tuition appropriate for the individuals/groups needs and study level
- Assess barriers to student learning and work to overcome these
- Monitor student progress and produce reports
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum content and qualification frameworks for the subjects taught
- Report updates regularly to the Tuition Programmes Manager
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years of tutoring/teaching experience
- Experience working with students who have communication difficulties and speech delays
- Experience working with students with English as an additional language is preferred
- Ability to adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The right to be self-employed in the UK
