Make a Real Impact as a Phonics Tutor. Are you a passionate educator, making a difference in the lives of students with SEN or SEHM needs? We are looking for experienced and dedicated tutors. You will provide personalised, 1:1 or small group support in Phonics at Key Stage 1. These in-person sessions in Hammersmith & Fulham offer the chance to work closely with students, helping them build skills and confidence in a supportive and tailored learning environment.

- Rate of pay: £35 p/hr
What You’ll Do
- Provide tuition that is appropriate for the individuals/groups needs and study level.
- Plan engaging lessons tailored to the unique needs of each student.
- Provide targeted support for students with SEN and/or SEMH.
- Assess barriers to learning and create a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Monitor progress, produce reports and adapt teaching strategies to achieve measurable outcomes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum content and qualification frameworks you’re providing subject tuition in.
- Regularly report updates to the Tuition Programmes Manager.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree is desirable, but we also welcome applications from candidates with recognised phonics training or certification, including: Letters and Sounds (Phases 3–5), Read Write Inc. Phonics, Jolly Phonics or Specialised Speech and Language training.
- 1+ years of experience tutoring / teaching phonics.
- Experience working with students with SEN and/or SEMH needs.
- An ability to adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The right to be self-employed in the UK.
