Make a real impact as a GCSE Tutor. Are you a passionate educator making a difference in the lives of students with SEMH needs? We are looking for an experienced and dedicated tutor. You’ll provide personalised 1:1 support in Maths and/or English for GCSE students. These in‑person sessions in Sidcup offer the chance to work closely with students helping them build skills and confidence in a supportive and tailored learning environment.
This job is in‑person in the Sidcup area.
- Hour(s): 1 - 2 hours per week
- Day(s) and Time(s): Friday evenings between 4-6pm
- Subject and Level: GCSE Maths or English
- Pay: £35/h
- Start date: As soon as possible
- Contract Length: approx. 8 weeks
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver tuition programmes in small groups or 1:1
- Provide tuition that is appropriate for the individuals/groups needs and study level.
- Assessing any barriers to students learning and working to overcome these.
- Monitoring student progress and producing reports.
- Creating a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum content and qualification frameworks you’re providing subject tuition in.
- Regularly reporting updates to the Tuition Programmes Manager.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree
- Experience working with students with SEMH Needs
- 2 years of tutoring / teaching experience
- Ability to work with students of all abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Right to be self‑employed in the UK
