Make a real impact as a GCSE Tutor. Are you a passionate educator making a difference in the lives of students with SEMH needs? We are looking for an experienced and dedicated tutor. You’ll provide personalised 1:1 support in Maths and/or English for GCSE students. These in‑person sessions in Sidcup offer the chance to work closely with students helping them build skills and confidence in a supportive and tailored learning environment.

This job is in‑person in the Sidcup area.

  • Hour(s): 1 - 2 hours per week
  • Day(s) and Time(s): Friday evenings between 4-6pm
  • Subject and Level: GCSE Maths or English
  • Pay: £35/h
  • Start date: As soon as possible
  • Contract Length: approx. 8 weeks

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver tuition programmes in small groups or 1:1
  • Provide tuition that is appropriate for the individuals/groups needs and study level.
  • Assessing any barriers to students learning and working to overcome these.
  • Monitoring student progress and producing reports.
  • Creating a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum content and qualification frameworks you’re providing subject tuition in.
  • Regularly reporting updates to the Tuition Programmes Manager.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Experience working with students with SEMH Needs
  • 2 years of tutoring / teaching experience
  • Ability to work with students of all abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Right to be self‑employed in the UK
