Make a Real Impact as a Secondary Tutor.
Are you a passionate, friendly educator, making a difference in the lives of students with SEN needs? We are looking for experienced and dedicated tutors who’ll provide personalised 1-1 support for Turkish speaking students in English and Maths. These in-person sessions in Islington offer the chance to work closely with students, helping them build skills and confidence in a supportive and tailored learning environment.
- This job is in person in the Islington area.
- Hour(s): 3 hours per week
- Contract Length: Until the end of the 2025/26 academic year
- Available Day(s) and Time(s): Wednesdays and Fridays, after 1pm
- Subject and Level: KS3 - KS4 Maths and English
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Rate of Pay: £30 p/h
What You'll Do:
- Provide tuition that is appropriate for the individuals/groups needs and study level.
- Plan engaging lessons tailored to the unique needs of each student.
- Provide targeted support for students.
- Assess barriers to learning and create a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Monitor progress, produce reports and adapt teaching strategies to achieve measurable outcomes.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum content and qualification frameworks you're providing subject tuition in.
- Regularly reporting updates to the Tuition Programmes Manager.
Requirements
We're looking for someone who has:
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- 2+ years of tutoring / teaching experience.
- The ability to fluently speak Turkish.
- Experience working with students with SEN/SEMH is required.
- Experience delivering ESOL is preferred.
- An ability to adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The right to be self employed in the UK.
