Make a Real Impact as a GCSE English Tutor. Are you a passionate educator, making a difference in the lives of students with SEN? We are looking for experienced and dedicated tutors who’ll provide personalised, 1:1 in English for GCSE students. These in-person sessions in Hackney offer the chance to work closely with students, helping them build skills and confidence in a supportive and tailored learning environment.

This job is in-person in the Hackney area.

  • Hour(s): 6 hours a week
  • Day(s) and Time(s): Monday - Friday, 10am
  • Subject and Level: GCSE English
  • Start date: As soon as possible
  • Contract length: Ongoing
  • Rate of pay: £35 p/h

What You'll Do:

  • Provide tuition that is appropriate for the individuals/groups needs and study level
  • Plan engaging lessons tailored to the unique needs of each student
  • Assess barriers to learning and create a positive and supportive learning environment
  • Monitor progress, produce reports and adapt teaching strategies to achieve measurable outcomes
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum content and qualification frameworks you're providing subject tuition in
  • Regularly report updates to the Tuition Programmes Manager

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or Specialist SEN Training
  • 2+ years of tutoring / teaching experience
  • Experience supporting students with ASC / ASD, Speech, Language and Communication needs
  • An ability to adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The right to be self employed in the UK
