How to prepare for a job interview at Tutors Green

Know Your Science Inside Out

Make sure you brush up on the key concepts and topics covered in the GCSE Science curriculum. Be prepared to discuss how you would explain complex ideas in a simple way, as this will show your ability to adapt lessons to different learning styles.

Showcase Your Tutoring Experience

Come ready to share specific examples from your past tutoring or teaching experiences. Highlight any success stories where you helped students overcome challenges, especially those with SEN, as this will demonstrate your capability to create a supportive learning environment.

Engage with the Interviewers

Treat the interview like a conversation rather than a Q&A session. Ask questions about their approach to tutoring and how they support their tutors. This shows your genuine interest in the role and helps you gauge if it’s the right fit for you.

Prepare for Practical Scenarios

Be ready to tackle hypothetical scenarios during the interview. They might ask how you would handle a student struggling with a particular topic. Think through your strategies for assessing barriers to learning and adapting your teaching methods accordingly.
