About the Role

Make a Real Impact as a GCSE Maths Tutor.

Are you a passionate educator, making a difference in the lives of students with SEMH, Speech and Language and Communication needs? We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Secondary Maths Tutor with a proven track record of success in delivering GCSE Maths. Our tutors are skilled at developing and delivering engaging and informative lesson plans, assessing student learning, and providing academic support. They are also effective communicators and have a strong ability to build relationships with students.

Job Title: GCSE Maths Tutor with SEMH Experience

Location: Hackney

Hours: 8 hours per week

Days: Weekdays after 12pm

Rate: £35 per hour

Contract Length: Until the end of the academic year 2026

Start Date: As soon as possible

We\’re looking for someone who has:

• A Bachelor’s degree
• 1+ years of tutoring / teaching experience
• Experience working with students with SEMH needs
• Experience working with students with Speech and Language/Communication difficulties
• An ability to adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The right to be self employed in the UK

What You’ll Do

• Develop and deliver tuition programmes in small groups or 1:1
• Provide tuition that is appropriate for the individuals/groups needs and study level
• Assessing any barriers to student’s learning and working to overcome these
• Monitoring student progress and producing reportsCreating a positive and supportive learning environment
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum content and qualification frameworks you’re providing subject tuition in
• Regularly reporting updates to the Tuition Programmes Manager
