Make a Real Impact as a Functional Skills English Tutor. Are you a passionate educator, making a difference in the lives of SEN and SEMH students? We are looking for an experienced and dedicated SEN Tutor to provide personalised, 1:1 support in Functional Skills English. These in-person sessions in Haringey offer the chance to work closely with students, helping them build skills and confidence in a supportive and tailored learning environment.

This job is in-person in the Haringey area.

  • Hours: 2.5 hours per week
  • Day(s): Monday - Friday
  • Time(s): Flexible / During school hours
  • Subject and Level: Functional Skills English Level 2
  • Start date: As soon as possible
  • End date: Ongoing
  • Rate of pay: £35 per hour

What You’ll Do

  • Provide tuition that is appropriate for the individuals/groups needs and study level
  • Plan engaging lessons tailored to the unique needs of each student
  • Assess barriers to learning and create a positive and supportive learning environment
  • Monitor progress, produce reports and adapt teaching strategies to achieve measurable outcomes
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum content and qualification frameworks you’re providing subject tuition in
  • Regularly report updates to the Tuition Programmes Manager

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • A Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of tutoring / teaching experience
  • Experience working with students with Autism
  • Experience working with students with Anxiety
  • Experience working with students with PDA is preferred
  • Experience working with students with OCD is preferred
  • An ability to adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The right to be self employed in the UK
