Make a Real Impact as an EYFS Specialist SEN Tutor.
Are you a calm and passionate educator, making a difference in the lives of adult students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? We are looking for experienced tutors who specialise in communication and sensory intervention to join our team. You’ll provide personalised, 1:1 or small group support in Communication skills, Maths and English for SEN students. These in-person sessions in Finsbury Park offer the chance to work closely with students, helping them build skills and confidence in a supportive and tailored learning environment.
- In-person in the Finsbury Park area
- Day(s) and Time(s): Monday – Friday, 11am-12.30pm
- Hours: up to 7.5 hours per week
- Subject and Level: EYFS Maths, English, Communication and Sensory Activities
- Start date: As soon as possible
- Contract Length: Indefinite
- Rate of Pay: £35 p/h
What You’ll Do
- Develop and deliver tuition programmes in small groups or 1:1
- Provide tuition that is appropriate for the individuals/groups needs and study level
- Assessing any barriers to student’s learning and working to overcome these
- Monitoring student progress and producing reports
- Creating a positive and supportive learning environment
- Facilitate sessions through sensory play therapy
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum content and qualification frameworks you’re providing subject tuition in
- Regularly reporting updates to the Tuition Programmes Manager
We’re looking for someone who has:
- A Bachelor’s degree or Specialist SEN Training
- 2+ years of tutoring/teaching experience with adult learners
- Experience using a multi-sensory teaching approach (tactile, auditory, and adapted visual strategies)
- Experience working with students with communication difficulties
- Experience with challenging behaviour
- Knowledge of communication strategies (e.g., PECS, Makaton, or similar)
- An ability to adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The right to be self employed in the UK
