The School of Health, Care & Childhood Studies is inviting applications from professionals with a background in Health and Social Care to support students through their work placement journey. As a Work Placement Visitor, you will work together with the course leader and teaching team to provide the best possible learning experiences, personal development opportunities and progression outcomes for all learners in a culture of ambition, mutual support and respect. It is essential that the successful candidate can work effectively with all support functions across the college.
Responsibilities
- Make calls to potential employers to secure placements and hold employer meetings
- Visit settings to observe students in practice and provide feedback
- Engage with students in class or on a 1-2-1 basis to discuss progress and field of work
- Plan and deliver sessions on professionalism and workplace expectations
- Maintain attention to detail and quality in all activities
- Set and meet targets and deadlines for placement coordination and student development
- Cooperate with support functions across the college to ensure smooth placement operations
Qualifications and Experience
- Professional background in Health and Social Care
- Strong interpersonal skills to relate to and manage young people appropriately
- Willingness to undertake further training and professional development
- Experience or ability in delivering professional development sessions and workplace training
- Ability to communicate effectively with employers, students, and college staff
