We are looking for a Primary Level tutor who can support with English skills (literacy, handwriting, spelling, phonics) and Maths skills (Times Table mastery, Numerical Reasoning, etc). Students can range from Year 2 to Year 6. Occasionally, support with entrance exams to independent schools may be required.

More about the position of Primary Tutor:

  • Lessons are typically 1 hour long.
  • Lessons may take place online or in-home, ideally the latter.
  • Please note that tutors are self-employed, so candidates on a Tier 4 visa cannot be considered.

Requirements of our tutors:

  • Our tutors must have a passion for teaching, must have the right temperament and patience to ensure they get the most out of their students.
  • Ability to make house calls is essential, as is a determination to see children succeed.
  • An understanding of the national curriculum is a benefit but not essential.
  • No formal teaching qualification necessary, though highly valued.

Our expectations of tutors who work with us:

  • Timely submission (within 48 hours) of tutoring session summary reports via the Tutor Doctor IT system.
  • Once matched to a student, you should commit to completing the tutoring programme that the client has signed up for (for example, a 24-hour tutoring package) to ensure learning continuity.
  • Deliver great tutoring lessons and academic coaching, as measured by client input to our Feedback Survey system.

Education: A-Level or equivalent (Required)
