Our excellent brand recognition, together with our qualified tutors and painstaking diagnosis of students’ needs has led to us being the number one, household name for one-to-one in-home tutoring.
More about the position of Maths Tutor:
- Lessons are typically 1 hour long (up to 90 minutes for higher levels).
- Lessons may take place online or in-home, ideally the latter.
- Ages vary, but mainly GCSE and A-Levels exam prep required.
Please note that tutors are self-employed, so candidates on a Tier 4 visa cannot be considered.

Requirements of our tutors:
- Our tutors must have a passion for teaching, must have the right temperament and patience to ensure they get the most out of their students.
- Ability to make house calls is essential, as is a determination to see children succeed.
- An understanding of the national curriculum is a benefit but not essential.
- No formal teaching qualification necessary, though highly valued.
Our expectations of tutors who work with us:
- Timely submission (within 48 hours) of tutoring session summary reports via the Tutor Doctor IT system.
- Once matched to a student, you should commit to completing the tutoring programme that the client has signed up for (for example, a 24-hour tutoring package) to ensure learning continuity.
- Deliver great tutoring lessons and academic coaching, as measured by client input to our Feedback Survey system.
