Due to ongoing growth, we are looking for enthusiastic and engaging English tutors with a passion for their subject to help children succeed in their studies and have fun along the way! You will be paired up with the most appropriate local students based on a proven matching system. The English Tutor Role: We are currently recruiting for English Tutors at secondary levels and above. Our students fall into two main categories: GCSE & A level - Help with set texts like "Of Mice and Men", "Wuthering Heights" and "Jane Eyre", analysing themes from the story and planning essay structures. We also have tutoring demand in other subjects requiring essay skills like: Economics, Psychology, Geography, Politics, Philosophy, Languages…the list goes on!

Responsibilities of an English Tutor

  • Deliver bespoke tutoring on a one-to-one basis to students via video conferencing (lessons may shift to the student's homes once the Coronavirus lockdown is lifted)
  • Liaise with the Tutor Doctor local management team to understand the students’ needs
  • Plan sessions accordingly and prepare material for session work and homework
  • Complete timely session reports using Tutor Doctor’s online system.
  • Ensure you are accessible and reliable, maintaining clear communication with clients and the Tutor Doctor local management team

Our expectations of tutors who work with us

  • Timely submission (within 48 hours) of tutoring session summary reports via the Tutor Doctor IT system
  • Once matched to a student, you should commit to completing the tutoring programme that the client has signed up for (for example, a 24-hour tutoring package) to ensure learning continuity
  • Deliver great tutoring lessons and academic coaching, as measured by client input to our Feedback Survey system

Job Type: Contract

Salary: £17.00 to £23.00 /hour

Education: A-Level or equivalent (Required)

Licence: DBS Certificate (Preferred)
