Tutor Doctor Cambridge and Norwich are looking for Tutors to deliver one-to-one In-person tuition to KS3 and GCSE students across Cambridge and the surrounding areas. Location: Cambridge and surrounding areas (within 20 miles), with a focus on Northstowe, Bottisham, Linton and Cambourne Salary: Competitive Job Type: Self Employed Hours: Daytime and/or Evenings About Us: As a nationally and internationally award-winning company, Tutor Doctor Cambridge and Norwich provides a local, friendly and flexible service for families and tutors alike. They deliver private tuition at home and online, and work with local schools, Cambridge Council and alternative provision services to support students in school, at home or in the community. Tutor - The Role: We are looking for enthusiastic, nurturing and engaging KS3/4 Maths, English and Science tutors to join our busy team and support students on a 1:1 basis around Cambridge and the surrounding areas. You will prepare and deliver tailored sessions that meet each student's academic needs and goals, working with students referred through Cambridge Council and local schools.  We have specific needs for in-person KS3/4 English, ESOL and Maths tutors who can travel to students based in Cambourne (CB23), and Northstowe (CB24), for this academic year 2026/27. Tutor - Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and deliver engaging, curriculum-relevant KS3 and GCSE Maths, English and Science sessions - Help students reengage with learning through respect, understanding and patience - Assess students' progress regularly and adapt your approach - Keep accurate, timely records of each session Tutor - You: - Right to Work Self Employed in the UK - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification - Experience in tutoring, teaching or special education - Knowledge of the UK Curriculum and GCSE examination process - Excellent communication skills and experience managing disengagement - Understanding of safeguarding, with willingness to complete annual Safeguarding and Prevent training - Available during the school day and after school - Able to travel to students within 20 miles of Cambridge - Desirable: SEN experience and a full UK driving licence Benefits: - Flexible hours and local placements - Choose your students by level, location, time slot and subject - Good rates of pay, including full pay for short-notice cancellations - Pre-placement meetings with families, schools or the Council to set clear expectations - Admin, invoicing and renewals handled for you - Access to their online teaching platform, tutor management system, tutoring guidance and skills development resources - Ongoing support from a friendly local office team Safeguarding: Tutor Doctor is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
