Tutor Doctor Buckinghamshire is a local business that is part of the Tutor Doctor network. We deliver one-to-one education in the student\’s home, local to you, and online. This role will require, but is not be limited to, in-school tuition. Thus, candidates should preferably be able to tutor during school hours.

This is a fantastic opportunity to earn some extra income outside 9-5 (though some work is available then). But you choose your own hours, while also doing something that makes a real difference in another person\’s life.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should:

  • Live or work in Buckinghamshire, or the Bucks side of Herts, or NW London (Ruislip, Pinner, Northwood, Denham etc).
  • Be reliable, hard working, patient, understanding and have a positive attitude.
  • Be able and willing to work with a variety of students, including SEN students with EHCPs.
  • Have extensive knowledge of the UK curriculum.
  • Have at least 2 years\’ relevant work experience.
  • Be able to deliver quality one to one tuition in family homes, schools or designated areas.
  • Be able to develop lesson plans to deliver predetermined plans and objectives.
  • Be able to deliver innovative tutorials using resources and materials to suit each student\’s needs.
  • Be willing to keep records of students\’ progress and able to give us weekly updates of your records.
  • Be willing to adhere to our policies and procedures and maintain Tutor Doctor\’s values and high-quality service.
  • Be willing to complete the Tutor Doctor Orientation.

You should have at least one of the following qualifications:

  • A Level Minimum Grade A-B in English
  • Bachelor\’s degree in English Journalism, Communications, or a qualification with an English component
  • TEFL/TESOL certificate
  • Teaching qualification

Other Requirements

  • An Enhanced DBS check is required. We can arrange this for you.
  • You need to have completed, or be willing to complete, safeguarding training and prevent training.
  • You need to provide us with the contact details of at least two references we can get in touch with.

What We Offer

  • As a self-employed tutor you choose which students you want to accept, and your own hours. Yet you have the backing of a reputable agency that does not simply make introductions but can offer guidance on the curriculum, course materials, exam papers, and free tutorials to ensure you are fully prepared.
  • All Tutor Doctor clients have been visited and vetted by an educational consultant, so you know tutoring is safe, and that the student and family are fully committed. We handle all contracts, so you are given long-term assignments, and are paid monthly and on time.
  • We offer competitive hourly rates of £18 – £25 according to experience, qualifications, and the level you will be teaching. We will pay more for candidates with outstanding experience and qualification
  • We take care of admin and renewals to help you focus on just the tutoring
