R&D Technician

About the Role: We are seeking a motivated and responsible R&D Technician to join our team. As part of the Engineering team, you will play a key role in building prototype road and motorsport vehicles to the highest level. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be working in our state-of-the-art facility alongside a friendly and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, assemble, and modify concept and prototype vehicles from the ground up, ranging from classic restorations to modern new builds
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and powertrain issues during early development phases.
- Fit specialised sensors, data loggers, and test equipment to track vehicle performance under stress conditions.
- Work closely with engineers to suggest practical fixes for assembly and packaging problems.
- Adhere to build quality standards and quality control processes.
- Diagnose faults and implement effective solutions with minimal supervision.
- Comply with all safe systems of work processes in an automotive assembly environment
- Work collaboratively with a team of technicians across a broad range of projects
- Identify and resolve build quality issues as they arise.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous car build experience is essential
- Strong background in automotive repair, fabrication, wiring, or motorsport build environments
- Experience building bespoke cars to an extremely high level
- Ability to adapt parts and re-work components when initial prototype designs face fitment issues in the workshop
- Strong practical skills in automotive repair, custom wiring, fabrication, and component re-working
- Prior experience in an automotive prototype, R&D, or trackside/motorsport development team would be an advantage
- Experience working on Porsches of all ages and types would be an advantage
- Excellent workshop knowledge & technical skills
- Hands-on experience working with diverse materials, including carbon fibre, aluminium, steel, and fiberglass.
- High attention to detail
- The ability to communicate effectively and resolve problems quickly and efficiently
- Good organisation and inter-personal skills
- Be flexible and possess a good sense of humour
- Be able to manage your time and prioritise your workload
- Full Driving Licence
- Excellent work ethic
