GCHQ is an intelligence, cyber and security agency whose mission is to keep the UK safe.
Working with partners such as MI5 and MI6, we identify, analyse and disrupt threats from terrorism, cyber‑attacks and espionage.
The Intelligence Data Analyst role is at the heart of this mission, gathering information from a wide range of sources—including internet‑connected devices—and using bespoke technology and analytical skills to make sense of it.
Responsibilities
As an Intelligence Data Analyst you will
- Collect and analyse data from diverse sources, at the frontline of real‑world events.
- Use analytical techniques to identify patterns and build insights that support operational decisions.
- Work within a rapidly changing technological environment, where learning and adaptability are essential.
- Working Hours and Location
During the initial nine‑month training period you will commit to full‑time hours, Monday to Friday (37 hours per week).
After training you may adjust your hours through flexitime, part‑time, job‑share or compressed hours.
The role is fully office‑based, and can be based in various locations, including the National Cyber Force in Samlesbury.
Eligibility and Requirements
To apply you must
- Hold a Level 2 (GCSE‑equivalent) qualification in English Language and Maths at Grade 4/C or above.
- Be a British citizen or hold dual nationality with a British component.
- Have normally lived in the UK for seven of the last ten years (if born outside the UK).
- Be at least 17 years old (you will not be offered a start date before your 18th birthday).
