We’re working with a modern, growing digital accountancy practice based in Preston. A close-knit team, great culture, and a client base made up largely of digital, creative and media businesses.

The role
You’ll manage your own portfolio of small business clients and be their main day-to-day point of contact. You’ll keep their records tidy, prepare accounts and tax work, and help them feel confident about their numbers. You’ll also support Client Managers on larger or more complex clients, handling the technical groundwork that sits behind good advice.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing your own client portfolio
- Being the go-to person for day-to-day queries
- Reviewing and improving bookkeeping in FreeAgent and Xero
- Preparing statutory accounts and corporation tax computations
- VAT returns, payroll and self-assessment work
- Assisting with management accounts where needed
- Liaising with HMRC on routine matters
- Keeping client records and job statuses up to date
- Spotting ways to improve processes and data quality
What they’re looking for
- At least 2 years experience in accountancy practice
- AAT Level 4 qualified or close to finishing
- Solid grounding in double entry, trial balances and limited company accounts
- Good working knowledge of corporation tax, VAT and payroll
- Confident using cloud accounting software, ideally FreeAgent and/or Xero
- Organised, detail-focused and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
- Someone who takes ownership and cares about doing things properly
