Position: Joy Festival 2026 Assistant Producer
Location: Turtle Key Arts Office, Lyric Hammersmith Theatre, London W6 0QL
Hours of work: 10am – 6pm. Evening work will be required 12th – 16th October.
Contract: Fixed‑term, 20 days between July and October, on average 1 day a week with full availability required 12th – 16th October.
Salary: £180 per day
Start date: w/c 20th July
Flexible working: This role will mainly be office based to work collaboratively with the TKA team but there may be some opportunity for WFH and flexible working.
The Assistant Producer will be involved in all aspects of Joy Festival 2026 including supporting with the producing, administration, marketing and organisational planning of the Artist Development Programme and Joy in the Community. You will learn under the mentorship of the Turtle Key Arts team including CEO, Alison King, and Producers Niamh and Ellie.
Across the role, the Assistant Producer will support the Producers in the delivery of all aspects of Joy Festival 2026 including:
- Coordinating with artists and mentors between mentoring sessions
- Coordinating with seminar leaders, sharing room booking information and sharing information about seminars with artists
- Creating rehearsal, tech and performance schedules for the festival week
- Attending meetings with partners
- Creating and collating technical requirements from artists and community groups
- Greeting artists and community groups during technical rehearsals
- Setting up workshop spaces and greeting participants
- Backstage and stage management support during performance nights
- Creating marketing and social media content to promote the festival
- Collating feedback post festival

We are looking for an early career individual, with some producing experience, who is passionate about the opportunity to work for Turtle Key Arts across all areas of Joy Festival 2026. The opportunity is created for D/deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent aspiring and emerging producers. We are committed to supporting the chosen Assistant Producer to fully access this role and are open to discussing all the ways we can do this.
Below is a list of experience and skills that will be useful for the role:
- Passion for championing disability arts
- Experience of using Microsoft Office suite or similar
- Experience of planning and coordinating an event or activity and liaising with multiple groups/people
- Experience of working in a theatre or arts setting (this may include volunteering)
- Experience of creating marketing content or material for social media
- Ability to use initiative and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work well within a team environment as well as independently
- Ability to manage and work to deadlines
