Our client is a fast-growing Claims Management Company (CMC) specialising in mis-sold car finance claims. With demand rising, they’re expanding their operations team and are now hiring an experienced Claims Team Lead to oversee and develop a team of Claims Administrators within their Manchester city centre office. This is a key leadership role at the heart of the business, ensuring claims are processed efficiently, customers receive a high-quality experience, and regulatory standards are consistently met.

The Role

As Claims Team Leader, you’ll be responsible for managing the day-to-day performance of the claims admin function, supporting staff, driving workflow efficiency, and ensuring the business operates in line with FCA and DISP requirements. You’ll act as the escalation point for complex claims and complaints, while working closely with senior leadership to improve processes as the company scales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Performance
    • Managing and mentoring a team of Claims Administrators
    • Overseeing workloads, workflow queues, and daily output
    • Supporting team targets through efficient, high-quality processing
    • Driving a high-performance, quality-focused culture
    • Managing workloads as a team
  • Claims & Complaints Oversight
    • Acting as the escalation point for complex client queries and complaints
    • Ensuring complaints are handled fairly, professionally and in line with DISP
    • Liaising with lenders and third parties to keep claims progressing smoothly
    • Monitoring turnaround times and service levels
    • Handling inbound calls professionally and resolving queries confidently
  • Compliance & FCA Standards
    • Ensuring processes align with FCA expectations and internal controls
    • Maintaining high standards of data accuracy, confidentiality, and audit readiness
    • Identifying risk, trends, and operational blockers early
  • Process Improvement & Operations
    • Spotting inefficiencies and suggesting workflow improvements
    • Supporting management with reporting, case trends and team performance
    • Helping scale the function as claim volumes increase

  • Strong experience in claims management and complaints handling
  • Working knowledge of FCA regulation and DISP framework
  • Previous experience leading or supervising admin/claims teams
  • Highly organised, process-driven and detail-focused
  • Confident communicator with clients, lenders and internal stakeholders
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, regulated environment
