About the Team: Turo is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our Business Intelligence team. You will be the technical lead for our BI ecosystem, responsible for both the day-to-day administration of our tools and the long-term vision of how we scale our data platforms. This is a role for a technical builder who cares about the "why" and the "how." You’ll combine advanced SQL and coding skills with a sharp eye for design to make sure our data isn't just accurate, but easy and intuitive for everyone at Turo to use.
What you will do:
- Own the BI Stack: Lead administration for Domo and Tableau. You’ll manage the backend while shaping the roadmap for how these tools evolve as Turo grows.
- Build Advanced Solutions: Use advanced BI features and custom code (HTML/CSS/JS) to build sophisticated dashboards that connect data from dozens of different sources.
- Innovate with AI: Find practical ways to use AI to speed up development, automate repetitive tasks, and solve complex data problems.
- Automate Everything: Manage and scale our ETL pipelines using Airflow and Jenkins, ensuring our codebase is version-controlled in GitHub.
- Foster a Data Community: You aren't just building in a vacuum. You’ll lead user trainings, share updates via Slack, and act as a go-to mentor for analysts across the company.
- Design for the User: Act as a "creative critic" for our visualizations. You’ll ensure everything we ship meets a high bar for design, clarity, and user experience.
Your profile:
- 4+ years in a business intelligence or data analytics role, preferably at a high-growth tech or marketplace company.
- Ownership Mentality: Proven ability to take full end-to-end responsibility for BI projects, moving from initial data ingestion to final visualization with minimal oversight.
- Proven track record as an administrator for BI platforms (specifically Domo and Tableau) and managing tool roadmaps.
- Direct experience connecting, cleaning, and harmonizing data from many different sources and tools into a unified BI layer.
- Experience with ETL automation tools (Airflow, Jenkins) and managing production codebases using GitHub.
- Technical Toolkit: Advanced proficiency in SQL. Strong technical background in Python and Java, with the ability to use HTML and CSS for dashboard customization.
- Design & UX: High attention to detail and a deep care for the user experience of data; you know how to make complex information digestible.
- Communication & Training: You excel at distilling complex technical topics. You are comfortable leading user trainings, providing Slack updates, and fostering engagement within the data community.
- Technical Curiosity: You are naturally curious with a knack for technical systems. You proactively use AI to accelerate development and are always looking for ways to automate manual workflows.
