The Production Test Technicians’ primary role is to support and maintain the day-to-day EOL test activities of the production lines and work with the Manufacturing Engineering team on continuous improvement activities and any new projects. The role is based at our site in Gateshead and reports into the Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- System and component level testing of motors, inverters and other components to facilitate production delivery
- Development of manufacturing test equipment to aid in the production of high-performance motors, pumps & fans
- To support production to ensure targets are met on a daily basis in order to supply the customer with a quality proven product
- Work to understand and follow engineering drawings and schematics
- Create work instructions for test and maintenance activities
- Carry out maintenance activities in line with Turntide processes
- Support with implementation of new tooling and equipment
- Liaise with engineering regarding build and test issues
- Ensure compliance with Work Instructions, SOPs, and control plans
- Record and validate test data accurately
- Support development and commissioning of test equipment
- Assist with fault finding on test systems
- Support continuous improvement (cycle time, FPY, downtime reduction)
- Comply with all relevant HSE legislation, local policies, and procedures
- Perform appropriate duties as assigned by management
The Requirements
- Able to follow instructions
- Able to act quickly and professionally when a problem arises
- Able to use initiative
- Computer literate (Microsoft, Excel and Word)
Bonus Points
- Experience within a manufacturing environment, although full training will be given
- Experience with maintaining equipment
- Experience with hand and power tools
Qualifications
- A recognised qualification is required to demonstrate proficiency in key skills: English Literature, English Language, Maths and ICT
- Relevant experience could also be considered
- A training course will accompany this role.
