The Revenue Accounting team plays a critical role within the Finance department, ensuring accurate and compliant revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606. Our focus is on delivering high‑quality, audit‑ready financial data that reflects the company’s performance and supports key strategic decisions.
This Revenue Accountant position is essential to managing the operational and technical aspects of revenue recognition. The role will be responsible for reviewing customer contracts, performing revenue allocations, maintaining revenue schedules, and supporting monthly and quarterly closes. The position will also help build scalable processes as the business continues to grow and expand globally.
Key customers of this role include the FP&A team, Commercial Finance, Sales Ops, Legal, AR, and External Auditors. Internally, the Senior Revenue Accountant will work cross‑functionally with Deal Desk, Order Management, Sales, serving as a subject matter expert on revenue‑related matters and guiding them on appropriate treatment for complex deals and contract terms.
This role directly contributes to team OKRs around:
- Timely and accurate month‑end close
- Improved contract review turnaround times
- ASC 606 compliance
- Strengthening internal controls and audit readiness
- Supporting system and process enhancements across the revenue cycle
The ideal candidate will bring solid accounting experience, keen attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Assist in monthly revenue accounting close activities by preparing journal entries and performing key account reconciliations, including those related to revenue, deferred revenue, unbilled receivables.
- Assist with revenue reporting and analysis by monitoring customer usage.
- Review standard and non‑standard contracts to determine the appropriate revenue recognition under U.S. GAAP, ensuring the company is compliant with revenue recognition principles under ASC 606.
- Assist in the order to cash process, reviewing submitted sales orders in our accounting system to ensure proper revenue recognition and compliance.
- Manage and maintain Net Suite ARM to ensure accurate and compliant revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, data validation, reconciliation processes, data flows.
- Work cross‑functionally within the organization to drive automation efforts to streamline accounting operations related to revenue accounting and improve the quality of monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
- Work directly with our sales, customer success, revenue operations, and FP&A teams to obtain needed data and reporting to support monthly revenue entries.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve internal process documentation to ensure clarity, consistency, and operational efficiency across teams.
- Perform special technical projects, analysis, and ad hoc reporting.
- Play a key role throughout the company financial audit, preparing & reviewing revenue related schedules for external auditors.
Qualifications Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or ACCA/CIMA qualified or progress toward certification strongly preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in SaaS revenue accounting with a focus on ASC 606 (desirable not but not essential).
- Proficiency with ERP and revenue tools (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce, CPQ).
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to support both strategic and hands‑on work.
