At Turning Point, we support people across the UK with substance use issues. Our Herefordshire (West Midlands) Recovery Service responds to the needs of people across the county, working in locations throughout Herefordshire to maximise the opportunities for service users. As a Team Leader, you will assist the Operations Manager in ensuring that our services are delivered to the highest standard, underpinned by person-centred values and a deep commitment to recovery-focused support. You will help lead a team that is ambitious—not only for the recovery journeys of the individuals we support, but also for the professional growth and development of every team member. You will have opportunities to progress your career with a structured learning journey and clearly defined career pathways that will enable you to achieve your long-term goals and work to your strengths.

As a Team Leader, you will support the development of the service alongside the Operations Manager and other managers, providing line management to a team of Recovery Workers, enabling the service to meet and exceed outcomes and quality requirements that promote independence and recovery for the individuals we support. You will ensure Turning Point’s vision and values are embedded in the team and will work closely within our multi-disciplinary team, to ensure the best possible outcomes for the people we support. Part of the role will also involve working closely with local partners and stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of the service. Our central hub is in Hereford, with satellite provision in Leominster, Ross, Bromyard, Kington, and Ledbury, so a flexible approach and an ability and willingness to travel to other sites is essential. This role will be responsible for our Ross-on-Wye and Ledbury sites.

You will have a proven track record of leading and supporting a team, with experience of delivering supervision and appraisal, as well as being able to guide and support staff to achieve the best outcomes for the people we support. An effective team player, you will possess great communication skills, a flexible recovery focused approach, a positive attitude and be able to adapt in a changeable environment. You’ll understand substance use issues, as well as appropriate treatment pathways, and the challenges and opportunities for individuals on a recovery journey. Substantial knowledge and/or experience of current detox and prescribing options would also be advantageous. We value individual creativity and initiative and, whatever your role, you will be fully involved in identifying opportunities to improve the quality of our services and the experience of the people we support. Your ideas will be listened to, and your suggestions implemented wherever possible. You will be supported in your role by extensive training to help develop your skills. Our learning culture encourages everyone to stay on top of the latest developments in their field and helps drive service improvement.

As a leading health and social care provider with more than 300 locations across England, we take real pride in the services we offer. We run all of our services on a not-for-profit basis; instead, we invest every penny back into our services and people. We never stop believing in change for the better, and we work constantly to improve the lives of the people we support.

We know reward looks different to each person and so whether it's ways to make your money go further, a culture supporting recognition and celebration, or opportunities to boost your career – we want to support you in every way we can with our total reward package that includes: 25 days’ paid holiday a year + Bank Holidays, increasing with each year of service up to 27 days + Bank Holidays. Plus the option to buy additional holidays and spread the cost.

We reserve the right to close this advert early if we are able to appoint to the vacancy before the advertised closed date.
