Operations Manager Herefordshire (West Midlands)

We have a fixed term opportunity for an experienced manager to join us and help shape the future of the service and lead the team to continued success. Opportunities for extension of the role will be confirmed towards the end of the year.
Our Herefordshire (West Midlands) drug and alcohol recovery service is a fully integrated service working with young people, adults and families. There is a focus on partnership working throughout the service to support those in the local community who need assistance to achieve their goals. We deliver treatment and support across the whole of Herefordshire ensuring a holistic and inclusive approach to recovery. We work collaboratively with stakeholders across the county and sector to provide a holistic treatment offer, drawing on the expertise of all services.
Role Responsibility
To lead and develop the team to deliver high-quality person-centred services as directed by the Senior Operations Manager in line with the Business Plan and best practice standards. To work as a key member of the team in delivering the service. To ensure Turning Points vision and values are embedded in the team. To ensure all statutory requirements of the service specification are met.
The role will deputise for the Senior Operations Manager, be an integral part of the service quality improvement plan (including investigations into incidents and feedback), help ensure the high performance of the service and contribute to a learning culture to support colleagues within the working environment.
As Quality, Governance and Safeguarding Lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all staff are trained and supported to safeguard our service users, working in partnership with Herefordshire Children\’s Service and Adult Social Services, and in conjunction with the Regional Performance Lead to utilise data and ensure actions are completed.
In addition, the Operations Manager will champion quality interventions, undertake case file audits and establish best practice across the team.
Aligned with our values, the successful candidate will strive to contribute towards the continued development of the service, support the management team to deliver the highest standards of care, and represent the organisation through engagement with partner agencies, service users and other stakeholders.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and highly attentive individual for a fixed term role within our team (there may be scope for the role to be extended). The Operations Manager will report to the Senior Operations Manager and support the safe and effective delivery of the Herefordshire Recovery Service, with direct responsibility for quality, governance, and safeguarding.
Essential Criteria:
- Demonstratable leadership skills and flexible and adaptable leadership style;
- In depth understanding and ability to operationally and performance manage the functions of the team you lead;
- Excellent communication skills (verbal/written);
- Ability to adapt to respond to colleague, commissioners/partners and people we support;
- Strong organisational, time management and prioritisation skills;
- Ability to remain calm and resilient in high pressure environments.
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience managing similar service/team;
- Management qualification or equivalent;
- Excellent local knowledge and experience working with stakeholders across health and social care.
