About the Role
We're looking for kind, patient and committed Support Workers to join a small, friendly team supporting a man in his new home in Whitfield, Dover. He has autism and epilepsy and sometimes displays behaviours that challenge himself and his team. He enjoys being out and about, sensory play, and learning new skills. You will support him with everyday activities such as eating healthily, emotional support, and learning new skills. He loves long countryside walks, visiting parks, eating out and relaxing with music. Consistency and structure are key to helping him feel safe and calm. You will receive full training, including shadowing shifts with an established Support Worker/Senior Support Worker.
Shift Patterns
This is a 24‑hour service. Flexibility is essential. You will be working a range of shifts including nights and some weekends.
Responsibilities
- Support him to live life to the fullest in his home and in the community.
- Help prepare meals, keep his home clean and comfortable, and plan fun activities.
- Promote his independence, help develop life skills and personal interests, and support his wellbeing.
- Assist with personal care, medication, and ensure his safety.
- Maintain accurate records as part of high‑standard care.
Qualifications
- Patient, compassionate and committed to supporting a person with autism and epilepsy.
- Fit and active, able to take part in walking and other outdoor activities.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow a lead and work in partnership with family and the wider support team.
- Confident following agreed rules and routines for safety.
- Ability to work independently when required and as part of a team.
