What does it take to become a leading health and social care organisation in the UK? It takes people who can turn lives around every day - providing encouragement, delivering innovative services and generally improving life for individuals with a learning disability or those affected by drug and alcohol misuse or mental health problems. But it's not just our front-line teams that make a difference. So do the dedicated professionals who work behind the scenes to support the vital work we do. Of course to operate at this level we need to maintain a high performing and engaged workforce. And that is where you come in.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an HR Advisor, who is seeking the development opportunities and stability that comes with an all-encompassing role of working within a busy transactional People Team. We are located in the heart of Manchester and are within close proximity to transport links. We have a hybrid working approach so you will be required to work at our main office in Manchester one day per week and the rest from home. It is a fixed-term contract for 12 months to cover maternity.
Role Responsibility
We are seeking someone to join our team who is confident in being the first point of contact for ER guidance and so able to offer extensive transactional advice and support to a team of front line managers and area management teams. You will have the drive to want to coach the managers that you speak to so that next time they will feel more confident in managing their own queries. You will have a thorough understanding of the disciplinary and grievance process, provide support to manage general conduct and performance concerns. You will have handled disciplinary activity up to and including gross misconduct cases and be confident in your own advice and making escalations as required. Ideally we are seeking a new team member who has the confidence to provide training to line managers in relation to key policy processes/changes, as well inducting and coaching our managers into new ways of working. You will appreciate the value of management information, identifying trends and taking action on it. You will be familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and able to maintain data records. You may have worked with iTrent.
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role you must be a HR Advisor with at least 12 months experience of supporting a busy operation with case management experience and ideally experience in TUPE. We are ideally looking for someone who is accredited with a minimum of CIPD level 5. You will be an experienced HR professional and will be confident managing a busy case load. As part of the people team, you will be a great team player, willing to roll your sleeves up and turn your hand to anything; you will support your colleagues when they need help - just as they would for you. Hierarchy and status will not be important to you; you will simply want to do a good job. You will also be required to support the administration that the team requires.
