Our Wellbeing workers act as 'keyworkers', holding a caseload of service users, supporting them to identify treatment goals and plans to achieve them, and reduce risk impacts to physical and mental health and overall wellbeing. The role includes maintaining regular contact with clients, offering advice, information and psycho-social interventions, completing assessments, risk management planning and working closely with clinical staff and partner agencies. You will communicate effectively with a range of service users and colleagues – internal and external – and manage different tasks with a commitment to Turning Point values. We welcome applicants with lived experience or a keen interest in supporting this group.

You may have lived experience of substance use/mental health/homelessness (self or a significant other), or experience supporting people in health and social care; there is also potential to enter through our Trainee Recovery Worker program, which enables entry at an initial level before moving on to other roles. Our learning culture helps drive service improvement and you will receive extensive training to develop your skills.

Responsibilities
  • Hold a caseload of service users and support them to identify treatment goals and plans to achieve them.
  • Provide regular contact, advice, information and psycho-social interventions.
  • Complete assessments and develop risk management plans.
  • Work closely with clinical staff and partner agencies.
  • Communicate effectively with service users, and internal and external colleagues.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to manage different tasks and maintain a commitment to Turning Point values.
Qualifications
  • Understanding of substance and alcohol use and the recovery journey; knowledge of relapse and other barriers to recovery.
  • Transferable skills from related backgrounds (mental health, housing or other health and social care) or willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills and alignment with organisational values.
  • Interest in the line of work; Trainee Recovery Worker pathway available for entry.
  • Openness to learning and contributing to service improvement.
Benefits and Career Development
  • Starting salary of £27,377 + £3,633 ILW, rising with pay progression to £32,026 + £3,633 ILW; dependent on experience may start higher.
  • Opportunities for structured career progression and learning journeys, including potential to become an Advanced Substance Use Practitioner or move into management/leadership roles.
