The PSI Facilitator will be responsible for delivering multiple group sessions each week, covering a variety of topics, and supporting service users to move successfully through treatment. Using Horizons evidence-based programmes, you will support people to access groupwork programmes as part of a personal treatment goal. Working with other staff within the team, you will deliver a range of alcohol and substance-use programmes, offering skills and knowledge to support long-term recovery. You will also be responsible for managing the related record-keeping, risk and safeguarding concerns that may arise.

You’ll have a good knowledge of the complexities behind alcohol and other substance use, and the challenges that may face individuals on their recovery journey. A compassionate approach and commitment to harm reduction is central to how we work. You’ll have an understanding of the theory and benefits of groupwork, with experience of groupwork programmes, as well as experience of using therapeutic skills to help empower service users to make sustained changes to their life.

The role is varied, so flexibility, the ability to work on a one-to-one and group basis, and knowledge of relapse prevention and other skills to promote recovery will be vital. Working with difference, diversity and adversity is at the heart of Horizons’ values, together with a thorough understanding of how this might affect people accessing drug and alcohol treatment.
