Are you looking for a rewarding job, making a real difference to people’s lives and supporting them to achieve their goals? As a Support Worker, you will make a real difference to people’s lives. You may also make a positive difference to your own life. We are passionate about people including our staff. You will receive bespoke training and development opportunities. 100% of our management team in Northumberland began their career with Turning Point as a support worker. We realise though that not everyone wants to climb the ladder which is perfect too – many of our staff have remained happy in a support worker role for over 15 years.

You will be encouraging the people we support to live life to their full potential. This will include a variety of community activities, promoting and developing their daily living skills, supporting with medication and health appointments, supporting to manage their personal budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Support adults to improve independent living skills and lead a meaningful and active life.
  • Encourage the people we support to live life to their full potential through a variety of community activities.
  • Promote and develop daily living skills.
  • Support with medication and health appointments.
  • Assist with managing personal budgets for the people we support.

Qualifications and Training

  • Knowledge of learning disabilities and/or autism may be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Mentors with a wealth of experience are available to support staff.
  • Bespoke training and development opportunities are provided.

Work Environment and Benefits

  • We are a not-for-profit health and social care provider with a commitment to reinvesting in services and people.
  • Flexible working arrangements via a bank model to fit around existing commitments.
  • This is a 24-hour service; shifts may include weekends and evenings. Short days, long days, and sleep-ins are available but not essential.
  • Rota is published 8 weeks in advance to help you plan your life.
