Turning Point's drug & alcohol services are expanding during an exciting time in the sector with new funding and investment. We have various roles for passionate individuals committed to supporting others in making positive change.

We offer roles in different teams, including:

  • Community-based treatment services: providing assessments, coordinating treatment, and working in partnership to support individuals. Roles include delivering structured psychosocial interventions in group and one-to-one settings to help service users develop thinking skills and behaviours for lasting change.
  • Homeless outreach provision: targeting homeless individuals with flexible outreach responses to those sleeping rough or in temporary accommodation.
  • Criminal Justice rehabilitation/recovery services: collaborating with Probation Services, Prisons, and Police to provide rapid, tailored responses supporting recovery and rehabilitation.

As a Recovery Worker, you will start with a salary of £25,116, with annual pay progression up to £29,383 (depending on experience; a higher starting salary may be offered). Role Responsibilities: Recovery workers act as ‘key workers’ for a caseload of service users, supporting them to set treatment goals and develop plans to achieve these. Responsibilities include maintaining regular contact, providing advice, psycho-social interventions, assessments, risk management, and collaborating with clinical staff and partner agencies. Effective communication, task management, and commitment to Turning Point values are essential. Candidates with lived experience of substance misuse, mental health, or homelessness, or those with experience in health and social care, are encouraged to apply. The Ideal Candidate: You should understand substance and alcohol misuse and the challenges faced during recovery. Transferable skills from mental health, housing, or other health and social care backgrounds are valued. Flexibility, the ability to work dynamically one-to-one and in groups, and knowledge of relapse and recovery barriers are important, with training available where needed. Excellent communication skills and shared organisational values are also key. Our Trainee Recovery Worker program offers entry-level opportunities for those without extensive experience, supporting career growth.
