We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to join our Wiltshire substance use service and play a key role in shaping and delivering high-quality, recovery-focused support. Our service provides integrated drug and alcohol treatment to adults, young people, and families across Wiltshire. We work closely with partners including health services, social care, and community organisations to deliver a holistic, person-centred approach that supports individuals to achieve sustainable recovery and independence. You will play a key role in leading the team, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring high standards of governance, safeguarding, and service delivery.
Role Responsibility
- Lead, manage and develop a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, person-centred substance use services
- Ensure delivery aligns with organisational values, the business plan, and best practice standards
- Take responsibility for quality, governance, and safeguarding, ensuring all statutory and contractual requirements are met
- Act as deputy for the Senior Operations Manager when required
- Drive service performance, improvement, and evaluation, contributing to a culture of continuous learning
- Oversee case file audits, incident investigations, and feedback processes to improve outcomes
- Work collaboratively with commissioners, health and social care partners, and other stakeholders across Wiltshire
- Use data and performance insights to inform decision-making and service improvements
- Champion safeguarding practices, working closely with adult and children’s services
- Support financial oversight and ensure effective use of resources within the service
- Promote recovery-focused interventions, independence, and positive risk-taking
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience in an operational management role within health, social care, or substance use services
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and performance manage teams
- Excellent understanding of service delivery, governance, and safeguarding requirements
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Highly organised with excellent time management and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
- Experience managing a drug and alcohol or related service
- Knowledge of local systems and partnership working across Wiltshire
- Experience in service development, transformation, or pilot programmes
- Understanding of complex needs, including mental health, housing, and offending behaviours
