Our Turning Point Scotland Services in Glasgow Alcohol & Drugs Crisis Service are looking for people like you to help provide individualised support to adults with a wide range of needs, either on an individual 1:1 basis or alongside others and as part of a team.
Turning Point Scotland Glasgow Alcohol and Drug Crisis Service
Turning Point Scotland Glasgow Alcohol and Drug Crisis Service offers integrated health and social care which provides low threshold, direct access services for people experiencing a crisis due to alcohol or other drug use including people who may be experiencing homelessness. These include a crisis residential unit, 24-hour Injecting Equipment Provision (needle exchange), woundcare, harm reduction advice, signposting and naloxone training and provision.
Proudly partnering with NHSGGC and the Health and Social Care Partnership for over 27 years, we have provided residential and direct access crisis services in a safe environment that challenges stigma and provides the advice and information required to reduce harm and give a space to reflect and consider the next steps towards recovery.
We are committed to helping individuals begin their journey to recovery whilst utilising harm reduction approaches, placing safety at the forefront of care delivery. We are passionate in encouraging citizens who use the service to improve and maintain relationships with family, friends and communities to build on their sense of belonging in society.
The support we provide is always person-centred, we do this by involving people who know the person well, this includes family and friends, other health and Social Work professionals, advocacy services and our own staff members.

As a Senior Relief Worker, you will work with individuals who have a wide range of support needs, providing them with practical and emotional support and encouraging them to achieve their own personal outcomes in all aspects of their daily lives e.g. keeping safe, meaningful activities, community involvement, physical health, relationships, emotional health and wellbeing.
Please note that IT skills are required for all our vacancies.
Where applicable, successful candidates will be required to register with the SSSC within 6 months of start date.

Eligibility
We welcome applications from all candidates who are eligible to work in the United Kingdom. However, we are not able to sponsor visas.
Turning Point Scotland operates a List of Approved Relief Workers who may be contacted by services when there is a need to engage additional workers in order to provide the required support to someone who uses our services. Relief Workers are primarily deployed to cover periods of leave, or sickness absence and to provide additional support during periods of peak activity etc.
When there is suitable work available within a service, a manager will contact Relief Workers offering them a shift/series of shifts. As a Relief Worker you will be well-placed to fit your work around your existing work or other commitments and you will be under no pressure or obligation to accept work from us if it does not suit you to do so. Once work is offered and accepted by you however, there is an expectation that you will make every effort to attend to undertake that shift. Your reliability in this regard is very important to our services and to the people we support who will be expecting you.
Relief Workers submit a Time Sheet to claim payment for the hours they have worked and are paid on a monthly basis. You will accrue some entitlement to paid holidays and you will be reimbursed for all reasonable expenses incurred in the course of your work for us.
You will be required to undertake a programme of basic training which is primarily designed to enable you to operate safely, but also to meet the organisation’s obligations to you in terms of health & safety legislation.
Relief Working at Turning Point Scotland will not normally be suitable for people who have full-time posts with other agencies.
