About the role

As the Registered Manager / Service Manager, you will lead a team working with adults with learning disabilities, complex health needs, and mental health needs. You will provide practical and emotional support, encourage individuals to achieve personal outcomes such as keeping safe, meaningful activities, community involvement, physical health, relationships, and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain relevance of services to individuals’ needs and purchaser requirements through ongoing planning, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Oversee financial aspects of the service, manage budgets, ensure efficient use of resources, and make financial decisions.
  • Lead development of new services, support business growth, and maintain reputational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with governance, law, and legislation, including local authority compliance, Care Inspectorate at level 5 and above, SSSC, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Support senior management to streamline, promote, and monitor quality assurance systems that meet the needs of individual services and the overall regional delivery.
  • Develop, monitor, and implement supervision and appraisal systems for staff.
  • Support individuals with diverse support needs to achieve personal outcomes, including safe living, community participation, and personal development.

About you

Required skills and experience:

  • Experience working with vulnerable people and leading a service delivery team, ensuring a safe operating environment.
  • Ability to negotiate and build positive relationships with internal and external partners, including local authorities and housing associations.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, able to prioritise workload in a sometimes pressurised environment.
  • Social Service and Health Care at level 9 (SCQF) or a recognised qualification for SSSC registration, plus a relevant management qualification.
  • IT skills required for all vacancies.
  • Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Requirements

Successful candidates will be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within six months of the start date.
