Our Turning Point Scotland Residential Services in Turnaround are looking for people like you to help provide person-centred support to adults with a wide range of needs, through delivery of a group work program on an individual 1:1 basis as part of a team.
The Turning Point Scotland Turnaround service delivers focused services that address the complex and interrelated issues of offending behaviour and problematic use of alcohol and other drugs
An asset-based approach has been adopted to help increase an individual\’s self-awareness, self-esteem and confidence. Self-development and reflection are key to an individual when putting into practice the skills and learning achieved within the service to help sustain their recovery and offending behaviour.
We are seeking a dedicated Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Therapist to provide targeted mental health interventions using a CBT approach within a residential environment. The therapist will deliver CBT-based programme designed to address criminal thinking patterns, alcohol and drug use, anger management, trauma, and other behavioural issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments for individuals who have offended and are subject to a Community Penalty and accessing a 6 week residential programme of change.
- Deliver structured CBT programs focused on criminal thinking, relapse prevention, anger management, or trauma recovery
- Facilitate individual and group CBT sessions in a residential setting
- Collaborate with stakeholders to support treatment and re-entry goals
- Maintain accurate records and treatment documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards
- Develop the skills of your team in CBT approaches
- Work alongside the Service Manager to lead the development and sustainability of our services
- Support staff development and ensure effective team working
Qualifications:
- Formal training and experience in CBT
- Strong understanding/interest of the multiple and severe disadvantaged, risk-need-responsivity model, and trauma-informed care.
The support we provide is always person centred, we do this by involving people who know the person well. this includes health and Social Work professionals, Advocacy services, family and our own staff members.
Due to the rural location and lack of public transport/safe pedestrian links, you must be able to travel independently to the service.
This is full-time post working over 5 days and the service operates 24/7.
Please note that IT skills are required for all our vacancies.
Where applicable, successful candidates will be required to register with the SSSC within 6 months of start date.
