As our Welfare Officer, you will take the lead on first aid and welfare across the school. You will:

  • Provide front line first aid and welfare support to pupils and staff
  • Assess and respond appropriately to medical and welfare needs
  • Support pupils with ongoing medical conditions in line with their Health Care Plans
  • Administer medication safely and maintain accurate medical records
  • Communicate with parents, carers and colleagues regarding pupil welfare and medical needs
  • Monitor and record attendance
  • Maintain records and reports, including those required for statutory purposes
  • Support the wider administration of the school
  • Help us maintain a safe, happy and supportive environment for everyone

This is a role that combines care, responsibility and organisation, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a busy school environment and wants to make a genuine difference to children’s lives.

  • Highly organised, reliable and able to manage competing priorities
  • Positive, proactive and solution-focused
  • A clear and effective communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to build strong and positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
  • Comfortable working independently while being part of a supportive team
  • Ideally experienced in working within a school or similar environment

Previous school experience is desirable but not essential. What matters most to us is that you have the right attitude, a caring approach and the confidence to deal with a wide range of situations.

A current First Aid qualification is desirable. If you do not currently hold one, we can arrange appropriate training for the successful candidate.
