Turner & Townsend is one of the leading consultancy providers to the Infrastructure sector and we have a thriving UK Estimating team making the difference for a large number of clients both in the UK and Overseas.

We are now looking for talented Associate Director-level Estimating professionals with proven Water sector experience to work within the South East and Midlands regions on a wide range of projects and major programmes of work, and to support the leadership of our ambitious growth plans.

Although our work is predominantly for regionally based clients, as workload requires, our estimating staff have the opportunity to work remotely (within region) on estimating tasks for our clients both nationally and internationally.

  • Our estimating team delivers a wide range of Estimating outputs for our clients:
  • Estimate Production (from Order of Magnitude estimates through to detailed estimates built up from first principles)
  • Estimating Assurance
  • Estimating Support to Major Programme Set up
  • Cost intelligence and benchmarking

As an Associate Director within the Estimating team at Turner & Townsend you will be responsible for:

  • Leading or managing the production of accurate and comprehensive estimates and cost plans for projects/programmes in the Water sector;
  • Playing a leading role in the development and promotion of estimating good practice within Turner & Townsend in line with our Estimating Vision 2030;
  • Playing a leading role in the region, helping to achieve regional strategic goals;
  • Playing a leading role in the achievement of departmental objectives;
  • Staying abreast of developments within own technical area of expertise;
  • Working with Directors to construct bids for new work;
  • Providing direction to staff working for you and with you on specific tasks;
  • Responsibility for the development of junior members of the estimating team;
  • Taking a lead role in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages;
  • Taking responsibility for developing new business opportunities with existing and new Turner & Townsend clients;
  • Identifying and acting upon cross-selling opportunities;
  • Staff management (where appropriate);
  • Knowledge management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified to high standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with proven relevant experience;
  • Previous experience of working with estimating software packages;
  • Desirable membership of RICS / CIOB /A. Cost E;
  • Experience of working on Major Programmes and Projects in the Water sector is essential;
  • Experience in leading and managing teams.
