LGV Class 1 Night Driver – Tilbury Depot
Employer: Turners (Soham) Ltd – South East Bulk Powders Division
Salary & Hours
£44,720 per annum
Contracted 55 hours per week. Overtime paid after 55 hours, as required by the business.
28 days annual leave (including bank holidays – if you do not wish to work on bank holidays, these must be booked as holiday).
Working Pattern
Monday to Friday – Night Shifts.
Weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) available as overtime.
The Role
You will be responsible for the safe collection and delivery of bulk powder cement using modern powder tankers. Full training will be provided on safe discharge procedures, site rules, and equipment use.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive safely, courteously, and in line with schedules.
- Complete daily vehicle checks and promptly report defects.
- Follow site discharge procedures and quality controls.
- Maintain accurate tachograph records in line with EU Drivers’ Hours and WTD regulations.
- Keep your vehicle clean and well maintained.
- Provide a professional and courteous service to customers on site.
Requirements
- Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
- Valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph card.
- Right to work in the UK.
- A strong focus on safety and attention to detail.
- Powder tanker experience preferred but not essential – full training provided.
- Up to 6 penalty points considered (no recent DD, DR, or IN offences).
- MPQC Skill Card desirable.
- Minimum 6 months Class 1 experience preferred.
- Safety boots required for all assessments and test drives.
