Turners (Soham) Ltd is the UK’s largest privately owned transport company. We are looking to recruit LGV Container Drivers in the Birmingham depot. Shifts are mainly Monday-Friday, with weekend shifts also available.
As a professional driver working for Turners Container Division, you will be required to demonstrate skill, professionalism and excellent customer service. You will develop close working relationships with your planning and training team, alongside other drivers and staff in a close-knit organisation that strives to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for all.
The haulage industry features varying hours and timings and requires flexibility in start and finish times. We have day, tramping and weekend patterns available (shift patterns vary by depot). Shift lengths vary, and you will be expected to comply with Tachograph & Working Time Directive regulations at all times. Occasional nights out may be required for day drivers due to unforeseen circumstances.
As a large and expanding company, Turners can take on new drivers with limited experience. We value willingness and keenness to learn, growing our driving crew with knowledgeable and competent members. We also recognise the value of experienced drivers and the strengths you can bring to the organisation.
Requirements
- Full HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence (1 year preferred)
- Driver CPC & Tachograph Card
- 35 hours CPC
- Container experience (preferred)
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English
- Minimum PPE: Safety Boots
(No test drives can take place without these documents.)
