Turners (Soham) Ltd is the UK's largest privately owned transport Company. We are looking to recruit LGV Container Drivers in the Birmingham depot. Shifts are mainly Monday–Friday pattern with weekend shifts also available.
As a professional driver working for Turners Container Division, you will need to demonstrate skill, professionalism and excellent customer service. You will develop close working relationships with your planning and training team and other drivers and staff members in a close-knit organisation that strives to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for all.
The haulage industry has varied hours and timings, requiring potential candidates to be flexible with start and finish times. We have day, tramping and weekend shifts (shift patterns vary from depot to depot). Shift lengths vary but you must comply with the Tachograph & Working Time Directive regulations at all times. Occasional nights out may be required for day drivers due to unforeseen circumstances.
Turners can take on new drivers with limited experience. All we ask is that you are willing and keen to learn and grow our driving crew with knowledgeable and competent members. We are also keen to take on experienced drivers and recognise the knowledge and strengths you can bring to the organisation.
Successful applicants must have the following:
- Full HGV Class 1 (C + E) licence (1 year preferred)
- Driver CPC & Tacho Card
- 35 hours CPC
- Container experience (preferred)
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English
(No test drives can take place without these documents and a minimum PPE of safety boots.)
