The Opportunity

  • You’ll work closely with engineers, production and purchasing teams, ensuring project documentation is accurate, accessible and delivered on time.
  • Your ability to keep information organised and maintain document accuracy will play a key part in the successful delivery of customer projects.
  • This is a varied role where no two projects are the same, making it ideal for someone who enjoys structure, responsibility and working within a busy engineering environment.

The role of Document Controller:

  • Coordinating technical and project documentation from enquiry through to completion
  • Managing document revisions and ensuring teams are always working from the latest information
  • Preparing project documentation for manufacturing, installation and customer handover
  • Maintaining electronic document management systems and organised filing structures
  • Producing customer documentation packs and uploading information to online portals
  • Supporting project teams by ensuring documentation is completed within agreed timescales
  • Assisting with quality documentation and audit preparation
  • Working across several departments to ensure project information remains accurate and compliant
  • Providing general administrative support to the wider engineering function

The ideal candidate for the role of Document Controller will have:

  • Previous experience within a Document Controller, Technical Administrator, Project Administrator or similar position
  • Ideally worked within engineering, manufacturing, construction or another technical environment
  • Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities
  • A proactive approach with excellent communication skills
  • Confidence working with technical information and documentation
  • A team-focused attitude and willingness to support colleagues where required
