Our Sustainability team specialises in helping client organisations to measure, manage and reduce energy consumption, carbon emissions and achieve wider sustainability aims.

  • Delivery of city/regional carbon reduction programmes
  • Development of carbon management strategies, including Net Zero strategies
  • Carbon footprint and greenhouse gas reporting, and associated ESG disclosures
  • Identification and assessment of energy saving opportunities and investment case support
  • Green building certification assurance on real estate capital projects
  • Estates decarbonisation plan and heat decarbonisation plans
  • Net Zero programme management and delivery

We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate a number or all of the following points, in relation to Heat Network (HN) and wider Distributed Energy (DE) projects or programmes. By Distributed Energy we refer to distributed, flexible, resilient and low to zero carbon heat and power networks, systems and resources, including but not limited to:

  • Heat networks
  • Solar Photovoltaics (PV)
  • Heat pumps
  • Energy storage
  • Demand side flexibility
  • Smart and vehicle-to-grid charging for electric vehicles

Experience of project development (scoping, business case, finance, high level technical – but consultant rather than engineer) for schemes involving heat networks, local energy networks/smart grid including battery storage, potentially including integrating with home EV charging/car battery storage.

We are looking for experienced talents to join our growing team, bringing in further specialism of HN and DE across a range of commissions. You are expected to have some or all of the following competencies:

  • A high quality of service delivery and client management
  • Consultancy experience within DE and HN projects
  • Successful track record in facilitating and delivering DE schemes across a variety of client organisations and achievement in meeting project or programme KPIs
  • Track record in overcoming barriers to DE through one or more project stages
  • Feasibility
  • Commercialisation
  • Procurement
  • Delivery of projects
  • Working knowledge and experience in DE solutions, covering multiple technologies
  • Good grasp of metering and billing regulations and awareness of Government policy surrounding HN
  • Programme management, reporting and organisational skills
  • A working knowledge of energy demands in buildings and any relevant regulations and design codes, e.g. CP1, Building Regulations Part L

Preferred:

  • Business Development experience
  • Development of energy strategies and master planning for DE
  • Ability to carry out DE data analysis
