Working in partnership makes it possible to deliver the world’s most impactful projects and programmes as we turn challenge into opportunity and complexity into success.
Our capabilities include programme, project, cost, asset and commercial management, controls and performance, procurement and supply chain, net zero and digital solutions.

We are majority-owned by CBRE Group, Inc., the world’s largest commercial real estate services and investment firm, with our partners holding a significant minority interest. Turner & Townsend and CBRE work together to provide clients with the premier programme, project and cost management offering in markets around the world.

The Third Party Risk Lead maintains responsibility for the design, implementation and oversight of Turner & Townsend’s Third Party Risk Management framework. This role supports the identification, assessment and management of Ethics & Compliance, integrity and reputational risks arising from relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, intermediaries, joint venture partners, clients and other third parties.

The successful candidate will lead the development of proportionate due diligence, screening, risk assessment and ongoing monitoring processes, working closely with Operational teams, Risk Management, Regional Ethics & Compliance teams and the wider business to promote a consistent, risk-based approach across our global operations. Working closely with CBRE (70% investors in Turner & Townsend), the role will align approaches as necessary, share leading practice and identify opportunities for coordination, while maintaining Turner & Townsend’s independent governance and accountability.

Main Responsibilities:

Third Party Risk Framework:

  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of the global Third Party Risk Management framework, policies, standards and procedures.
  • Define risk-rating criteria, due diligence requirements, escalation thresholds and approval requirements for third-party engagements.
  • Embed Third Party Risk Management requirements into procurement, contracting, onboarding and ongoing relationship management processes.
  • Monitor relevant regulatory and leading-practice developments relating to third-party risk.
  • Oversee risk-based due diligence and integrity assessments for suppliers, subcontractors, intermediaries, joint venture partners, acquisition targets and other third parties.
  • Review enhanced due diligence findings and advise stakeholders on higher-risk engagements, mitigations and approval requirements.
  • Oversee sanctions, watchlist, politically exposed person and adverse media screening, supporting the resolution of potential matches.

Ongoing Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Develop processes for the ongoing monitoring and periodic reassessment of third-party risks throughout the relationship lifecycle.
  • Monitor compliance with onboarding, approval and review requirements, escalating material exceptions and emerging risks where appropriate.
  • Develop management information and reporting on third-party risk exposure, due diligence activity and programme effectiveness.
  • Provide subject-matter advice and support to investigations involving bribery and corruption, sanctions, conflicts of interest or third-party misconduct.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Provide advice and guidance to Procurement, Legal, Regional Ethics & Compliance teams and business stakeholders on third-party risk requirements.
  • Develop and deliver training and awareness activities to support consistent application of the framework.
  • Manage relationships with external due diligence, screening and technology providers.

Key relationships include the wider Risk Management function, incorporating central and regional Ethics & Compliance teams; regional operational and finance teams; Executive Management and Regional Boards; and CBRE’s Ethics & Compliance team.

Qualifications

  • Extensive relevant experience in Third Party Risk Management, Ethics & Compliance, Financial Crime, Internal Audit or Risk Management, ideally within a global business.
  • Demonstrable experience designing, implementing or operating third-party due diligence, screening and risk assessment processes.
  • Strong knowledge of integrity due diligence, sanctions compliance and the management of third-party bribery and corruption risks.
  • Experience assessing complex due diligence findings and providing clear, proportionate and risk-based recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across central, regional and operational teams.
  • A relevant degree or recognised professional qualification, such as ICA, ACAMS or IRM, would be advantageous.
