Turner & Townsend are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity to support estate-wide fire safety management and asset assurance activities across both fissile and non-fissile environments.
Estate Management – Fire Safety Support- Provide fire safety support for estate management activities, including small works across fissile and non-fissile sites.
- Review proposed works to ensure fire safety considerations are appropriately addressed and integrated.
- Advise on fire safety implications of estate changes, refurbishments and maintenance activities.
- Support project teams in delivering compliant and risk-appropriate fire safety solutions.
- Undertake detailed reviews of fire safety assets including fire detection and alarm systems (including VESDA), compartmentation, fire doors and passive fire protection measures.
- Assess condition, performance and compliance of fire safety systems across the estate.
- Identify deficiencies, risks and required remedial actions.
- Support the development of site-wide fire safety standards and specifications.
- Contribute to consistency and best practice in fire asset management across the estate.
- Provide technical input into policies, procedures and guidance documents.
- Engage with estate teams, project stakeholders and technical specialists.
- Produce clear reports outlining findings, risks and recommended actions.
- Support prioritisation of remedial works based on risk and operational impact.
- Level 4 Diploma (or equivalent) in a fire-related discipline.
- Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g., Institute of Fire Engineers or Institute of Fire Safety Managers).
- In-depth knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Approved Document B, and BS 9999.
- Experience applying best practice approaches to fire safety in operational environments.
- Familiarity with Eurocodes, British Standards, Codes of Practice and guidance documents.
- Ability to advise on practical and proportionate fire safety solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to influence and engage across a business and multidisciplinary teams.
- Degree in Fire Engineering or a related subject.
- Familiarity with Nuclear Site Licence Conditions and associated regulatory frameworks.
