We are seeking a skilled and proactive Bid Writer to play a key role within our Major Bids Team. Working closely with Bid Directors, Bid Managers, subject matter experts, and the wider business, this role is critical to support Turner & Townsend’s strategic growth through the development of high‑quality, compelling bid submissions. The Major Bids Team works on our largest, complex, multi-disciplinary bids in areas of strategic growth.
The Bid Writer will contribute to major bids by shaping clear, persuasive written responses and ensuring our value proposition is articulated effectively. Key responsibilities include:
- Writing and developing technical bid responses, ensuring compliance with ITT requirements and timescales.
- Incorporate local knowledge, research, evidence, and Turner & Townsend brand‑aligned writing style to ensure responses are targeted, compelling, and aligned to client needs.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a consistent and coherent final submission aligned to scoring criteria.
- Lead and facilitate content planning sessions and storyboarding to establish structure, flow, and key messages across major responses.
- Ensure submissions are prepared for internal quality assurance and governance processes.
- Analyse completed bids to identify high‑scoring content and contribute to the development of a best‑practice response library.
- Contribute openly to the team with ideas and innovations to support continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain high‑quality outputs.
- Confident communicator able to build credible, collaborative relationships across the bid team and senior stakeholders.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas in a clear, compelling, and accessible way.
- Effective stakeholder management and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and influence at senior levels.
- Strong team player who contributes ideas, supports continuous improvement, and promotes best practice.
- Open to feedback, committed to learning, and supportive of a culture of continuous improvement.
- High level of IT literacy, particularly in MS Office, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Turner & Townsend recognise the importance of helping its employees harmonise their work and home life by offering hybrid working, enabling them to balance their working life with other priorities. Currently, we anticipate you being on client sites or Turner & Townsend offices 60% of your time, but this may flex to meet client and business requirements.
