Due to increased workload and securing of new clients across the Infrastructure and Real Estate sectors, Turner & Townsend has a new opportunity for an Associate Director to join our growing Contract Services division in our UK offices. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:

The individual will work and lead our highly skilled team delivering best-in-class strategic procurement and contract advice, including end-to-end procurement services to some of the larger brands and on the most exciting programmes and projects. This role will be a part of our growing Contract Services team and play a significant part in the continued expansion of our team and our services in this exciting period of growth, such as Sustainable Procurement, Transformation, Renewables, Digital Procurement and Net Zero Strategies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide specialist procurement strategy advice to Public and Private sector clients
  • Lead and manage end to end procurement services on major projects or programmes
  • Lead and support the development of the procurement services provided by Turner & Townsend
  • Lead and develop a team to achieve successful outcomes for our clients
  • Managing client relationships and related commission outputs and deliverables
  • Lead and support business development and marketing of the Contract Services team’s service proposition
  • Lead on bid preparation and proposal documentation and support the work winning capability of the contract services division
  • Support the delivery of both team and wider business targets

Qualifications:

  • Experience in and/or knowledge of regulated procurement, in particular Public Contract Regulations 2015 with an awareness of the Green Paper and potential changes to the public procurement regime
  • Leading strategic major procurement projects or programmes for Public and Private sector clients
  • A strong background in tender preparation, development and management ideally including negotiation
  • Commission, client relationship, and people management
  • Experience of developing and using various forms of contracts with particular focus on NEC and JCT
  • Cross sector experience with a strong public procurement background is highly desirable
  • Have achieved, working towards or willing to work towards MCIPs accreditation
  • Preferably possess degree related to construction, civil engineering, quantity surveying, law or procurement
  • Preferably possess experience working in Defence, Utilities, Infrastructure (roads, rail etc) sectors
  • Security Clearance – currently valid or could be reinstated

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage a wide range of stakeholders and develop ongoing relationships
  • Able to develop supplier evaluation and commercial principles and modelling strategies
  • Able to develop Supply Chain Intelligence strategies and analysis
  • Able to develop Supplier Relationship Management strategies and activities
  • Able to manage work/business development/career development activities
  • Excellent attention to detail
