We're looking for a qualified MOT Technician (Class 4 & 7) to join a busy and professional workshop team in Burton upon Trent. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tester who takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work while maintaining the highest standards of road safety and compliance.
What you'll be doing:
- Carrying out MOT tests on Class 4 and Class 7 vehicles in line with DVSA standards
- Identifying and recording defects, failures and advisories accurately
- Using approved MOT testing equipment and MTS systems
- Communicating test results clearly with colleagues and customers
- Completing authorised repairs relating to MOT failures where required
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised testing environment
- Ensuring full compliance with DVSA procedures and audit requirements
- Supporting workshop technicians with MOT preparation when needed
- Managing work and job progress through the workshop management system
What we need:
- Valid MOT Tester Licence for Class 4 & 7 vehicles
- Previous experience in an MOT testing or workshop environment
- Strong knowledge of DVSA testing procedures and regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable skills:
- NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Diagnostic and fault-finding experience
- Experience working across multiple vehicle brands
- Hybrid and EV awareness or training
- Familiarity with dealer management or workshop systems
